These photos shows Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren, left, and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after DeSantis suspended Warren. Warren vowed to fight his suspension over his promise not to enforce the state's 15-week abortion ban and support for gender transition treatments for minors.

A Florida state attorney is taking the governor to federal court.

Andrew Warren was the lead prosecutor in Hillsborough County before he was suspended without pay from his elected job by Gov. Ron DeSantis in August after he signed pledges not to prosecute abortion or gender-affirming care cases. Warren also dropped charges against more than 60 people arrested for unlawful assembly during the George Floyd protests in the summer of 2020.

The trial will focus on one key issue: free speech.

Guest: Andrew Warren, suspended state attorney, Hillsborough County.

UPDATE: Since this program aired, we learned that Warren’s right to practice law privately is in question as he still holds an elected position during his suspension.

The video features shoppers’ shocking reactions as they realize something is drastically wrong and learn the hard way how the effect of the climate crisis can affect their daily lives.
