Electric power transmission lines
Penn State

JEA customers facing rising bills could see some reprieve in the coming months, but not before experiencing one more hike. This morning, we’re taking a closer look at what’s driving high energy costs and what JEA and others are doing to help people stay connected and paid up.

Guests:

Taverna Oceana

The husband-and-wife team behind Taverna in San Marco is branching out. Chef Sam and Kiley Efron will open Taverna Oceana in early 2023. It will be a new raw bar and seafood-focused concept, conveniently located next door to Taverna in San Marco Square.

Guests: Sam and Kiley Efron.

Cord blood donations

Mothers delivering newborns at UF Health Jacksonville will now have the opportunity to publicly bank their umbilical cord blood, at no cost, in an effort to help patients with life-threatening diseases. This opportunity, which was made possible due to a partnership with LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank, is the first of its kind in Northeast Florida.

Guest: Luis Hernandez, director of cellular therapies, LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank.
