Bob Buckhorn, the former mayor of Tampa, joined us for a preview of Scenic Jacksonville’s Great Cities Symposium, which will take place at the Garden Club on Oct. 12, and to share his thoughts about the ways Jacksonville can grow and thrive.

Celebrating Frederick Law Olmsted

A special event at the Cummer Museum hosted by the Memorial Park Association is part of a nationwide celebration of the birth of American landscape architect and social reformer Frederick Law Olmsted. Historian and filmmaker Laurence Cotton, who will speak at the Cummer Museum, joined us with a preview.

Storm scams

It’s an unfortunate fact of life here in Florida. After the storm is gone, the scammers descend. There are many different types of scams out there that people coping with the impact of Ian need to be vigilant for as they navigate its aftermath. Shari George, Jax Federal Credit Union branch manager, joined us with some tips to avoid these scams.
