Early voting is already underway here in Florida and across the country. And after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which guaranteed reproductive rights for women, new polling shows a huge gender gap on the abortion issue as voters head to the polls.

Jax by Jax Literary Arts Festival

Jax by Jax is set for this weekend, downtown at the Jessie Ball DuPont Center. This free festival features dramatic readings and a slew of workshops with everything you need to know about becoming an author.

Suicide among first responders

Tomorrow, Oct. 28, is National First Responders Day. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, first responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty.

LSF Health Systems in Jacksonville is spearheading a new First Responder Peer Support Program across 20 counties in our part of Florida. Current and former first responders or military members will provide confidential and free support to first responders and their family members.
