Florida Times-Union

We discussed how the city is trying to educate us about recycling — just as a new report from Greenpeacesays most of what we try to recycle is actually headed to landfills.

Hanna Holthaus of the Florida Times-Union has been covering this story and joined us in the studio.

Voting challenges

As early voting continues around the state this week, the recent prosecutions of formerly incarcerated individuals for alleged "voter fraud” continue to spark outrage and lawsuits.

For more on challenges to voting in Florida, we spoke with Eliza Sweren-Becker, counsel in the democracy program at the Brennan Center for Justice.

Book club

Stacey Goldring, the First Coast Connect Book Club facilitator, joined us to share this month’s selection, “Flight Behavior” by Barbara Kingsolver.

'Don't Blame it on ZEN'

MOCA Jacksonville has unveiled its latest exhibition, "Don't Blame it on ZEN." This interactive and multidisciplinary exhibit explores the legacy of composer, philosopher, poet and visual artist John Cage through works by Cage himself, as well as artists who worked with him and others whom he influenced.

Jade Dellinger, director of the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers, discussed the exhibit, which debuted at FSW.
