Downtown Jacksonville.

Most of you have probably come to know and hopefully love our Friday Media Roundtable by now. We thought it would be nice to do the same thing with a panel of everyday people from around town.

Joining us in the studio today were Matt, Lindsey, Omar and Catalina.

Among the topics discussed:

  • Confederate Monuments
  • New Jaguars stadium and its funding.
  • Cost of living in Northeast Florida.
  • Hopes for Downtown.
  • Thoughts on new leadership.

Alzheimer’s drug

The Food and Drug Administration last week gave full approval to the Alzheimer’s drug Leqembi.

This was the first time in two decades that an Alzheimer’s medication has received full approval — meaning that the agency concluded there is substantial evidence that people can benefit from it. However, the FDA also added a “black-box warning”.

Dr. Joe Sirven, a neurologist at Mayo Clinic and the Host of What’s Health Got to Do with It?, joined us to talk more about what all this means for Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers.

Continued heat

It’s still hot outside!

Just like you all are trying to find some more ways to beat the heat, we are finding some other alternatives this summer as well.

One innovative idea to escape the sun, Swimply.

Derek Callow, the company’s chief operating officer, gave us more details.

Dining alfresco

If you are looking for other ways to get outside and enjoy summer’s longer days, consider dining alfresco. One of the many lovely patios or rooftops around town.

Jeffrey Spear, author of “My Life in Gluttony: A Culinary Adventure” and a contributor to Jacksonville Magazine, had some suggestions.
