Florida's 'Stop WOKE' law

An appellate court panel last week criticized Gov. Ron DeSantis’ "Stop WOKE Act" as an attempt to limit freedom of expression. The ruling in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals found that the government’s effort to regulate private employers' training content is unconstitutional.

JEA trial

David Bauerlien from The Florida Times Union joins us to discuss the fraud trial of two former JEA executives. One key point involves former General Counsel Jason Gabriel, who said he discussed with then-CEO Aaron Zahn whether an incentive plan tied to the sale of JEA was legal. On the other hand, Camilla Lee Johnson, a former board member and chair of the compensation committee for JEA, chose to plead the 5th Amendment. She stated she couldn’t remember details.

Tim Gilmore, a respected author, educator, and creator of the Jax Psycho Geo website, shares insights about Jacksonville architect Robert Broward. Broward, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, was committed to integrating each structure with its environment. His lasting contributions include designing the Universalist Church of Jacksonville on Arlington Expressway and the auditorium for Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.
