We talk to people shaping the social and political landscape of the First Coast, as well as organizers of 904 Day about discovering the region’s identity, and grappling with its past.

And, St. Johns County nonprofit Florida Water Warriors aims to teach “environmental literacy” to underserved students. We talk to group educator Kristie Corrigan about an upcoming riverfront oyster roast to benefit the group’s endeavors.

Anne Schindler joined WJCT News 89.9 as host of First Coast Connect in October 2023, after nearly three decades in Jacksonville print and television. Anne has worked in the Jacksonville media market since 1995, first as a reporter for the original Folio Weekly, then as the publication’s editor-in-chief from 2002 until her departure.
