Anne Schindler

Host, "First Coast Connect"

Anne Schindler joined WJCT News as host of First Coast Connect in October 2023, after nearly three decades in Jacksonville print and television.

Anne has worked in the Jacksonville media market since 1995, first as a reporter for the original Folio Weekly, then as the publication’s editor-in-chief from 2002 until her departure.

In 2012, Anne transitioned to television as executive producer of special projects for First Coast News, Northeast Florida’s NBC and ABC affiliates.

Anne graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in journalism. Her first job in journalism was at the Twin Cities Reader, under the paper’s then-editor, David Carr.

She currently serves as chair of the Northeast Florida Media Committee and is a member of the University of North Florida School of Communication’s Professional Advisory Board.

Her credits include a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative journalism, eight Association of Alternative Newsweeklies Awards and five NATAS Suncoast Emmy Awards, including in the investigative reporting and topical documentary categories.

“To bring everything I’ve learned to First Coast Connect at this moment in our region’s evolution is a dream opportunity,” Anne said. “I’m ready to listen — and to ask the hard questions that matter to our audience.”
