On Wednesday’s show: New novel takes on Jacksonville politics

Abel Harding

A well-known name in local politics, business and journalism tries his hand at fiction. We’ll sit down with Abel Harding ahead of the release of his debut novel, Last Time I’ll Ask, a tale of Jacksonville politics, interpersonal conflict and personal discovery. Harding appears at a book signing and author chat at The BookMark in Neptune Beach this Thursday, June 26, at 6 p.m.

Guest: Abel Harding, author of Last Time I’ll Ask

Then, a Jacksonville student is working to make mental health care more accessible—both on college campuses and around the world. We talk with Nora Sun, winner of the Jed Foundation’s 2025 Student Voice of Mental Health Award, about her organization, Mercuri.world. Her startup uses online platforms to breach linguistic and financial divides, bringing mental health services to remote cultures around the world.

Guests:

  • Nora Sun, CEO of Mercuri.world, recipient of the Jed Foundation’s 2025 Student Voice of Mental Health Award
  • Dr. Laura Erickson-Schroth, chief medical officer of the Jed Foundation

And, it’s the beginning of the end—before a new beginning. Jacksonville's Museum of Science and History prepares to close its Southbank museum ahead of its eventual relocation to new digs across the river. As it begins to wind down operations, the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium hosts a final live music night with indie space-rock locals Skyview. Our resident spaceman gives us a preview in his monthly interplanetary touchdown.

Guest: Eddie Whisler, planetarium director at the Museum of Science & Histor
