Tired of talking points and the politics of attack, a group of students at Flagler College created a forum for political engagement beyond the partisan divide. We talk to its creators and members about the value of tackling difficult topics in a neutral and, dare we say, collegial way.
Guests:
- Hannah Gerber, president, The Political Forum at Flagler College.
- Manny Marcantoni, vice president, The Political Forum at Flagler College.
- Gabriel James, public outreach coordinator, The Political Forum at Flagler College.
Then, a new pilot program by the city of Jacksonville and Ability Housing is providing affordable housing and individualized support services for 25 chronically unsheltered people. We explore how the agencies plan to pay for and implement the first-of-its-kind local housing program.
Guests:
- Cody Spencer, programs director at Ability Housing.
- Brian Snow, president of housing at Sulzbacher Center.
- Tracye Polson, director of strategic partnerships for the city of Jacksonville.
And, the creatures of the night are set to take over Downtown. We chat with the mastermind behind a haunted bar event that celebrates Halloween with a costumed bar crawl, a silent disco and killer cocktails.
Guest:
- Keyana Holden, creator of Nightmare On Bay Street.
