On Tuesday’s show: Former Mayor John Peyton

susanmichal

He’s the former mayor, president of Gate Petroleum and this year's recipient of a OneJax Humanitarian award. We sit down with John Peyton to discuss partisanship, philanthropy, the petroleum biz and life after politics. Since 1970, OneJax Inc. has honored First Coast residents whose work demonstrates outstanding commitment to the community. First Coast Connect will feature this year's recipients regularly through April.

Guests:

  • John Peyton, president of Gate Petroleum, former Jacksonville mayor.
  • Elizabeth Andersen, CEO of OneJax Inc.

Then, after years of planning an overhaul to the Skyway, city transportation officials are just now spending almost $7 million on a feasibility study. We’ll discuss why the project’s future is still uncertain, with the investigative reporter who’s been covering JTA’s Ultimate Urban Circulator for months.

Guest:

  • Emily Turner, anchor and investigative reporter at Action News Jax.

And, Nassau County’s Blue Fire Theatre teams up with The ARC Nassau to create a musical for performers of all abilities. The two groups are collaborating on the musical Annie Jr. in conjunction with The Penguin Project, which is dedicated to demonstrating that disabilities don’t limit life experiences.

Guests:

  • Toni D’Amico, founder and managing director of Blue Fire Theatre.
  • Ann Walsh, show director.
