Tricia Booker, former reporter and journalism professor at the University of North Florida; Anthony Austin, evening anchor at First Coast News; Ariel Schiller, reporter at News4Jax; and Will Brown, race and poverty reporter at Jacksonville Today.

Among our topics this week:

  • From closed bridges to snowed-over streets, Florida and Georgia residents cope with the freezing realities of Enzo.
  • A local police officer makes national headlines after accidentally shooting a man with his own gun during a traffic stop.
  • Yet another Duval County student is struck by a car and killed on her way to school.
  • Trent Baalke finally gets the hook after a sluggish start to the search for a new Jags coach.
  • University of Florida teachers sue the state over DEI curriculum restrictions.

To talk about all that and more, we're joined by:

  • Anthony Austin, evening anchor at First Coast News.
  • Tricia Booker, former reporter and journalism professor at the University of North Florida.
  • Ariel Schiller, reporter at News4Jax.
  • Will Brown, race and poverty reporter at Jacksonville Today

Then, paying for medical supplies not covered by insurance can become a major financial burden for older adults. To bridge the gap, ElderSource is hosting a Shop & Drop event, accepting donations to its Sharing and Caring Closet. The store, which is open year round, allows seniors to “shop” for needed items like nutritional drinks, instant hot and cold packs and nonstick Band-Aids. A full list of items and details on how to donate is available on the group’s website.
