Each Friday, our panel of journalists dives into the week’s top headlines. Among our topics:

  • Jail officials quietly boost medical staff to address health care concerns.
  • State and local government officials jump on the DOGE bandwagon.
  • First Coast legislators take aim at local governments’ DEI policies.
  • Congressman John Rutherford joins Republican lawmakers nationwide in shunning meetings with constituents.

Guests:

  • Nikesha Williams, author and Jacksonville Today columnist.
  • Nate Monroe, executive editor at Jacksonville Tributary.
  • Tricia Booker, author, former reporter and journalism professor at the University of North Florida.
  • Rich Donnelly, anchor and reporter at First Coast News.

And, from a classic “steinholding” contest to cheering on a wiener dog race, guests at the 4th Annual San Marco Beer Fest will have plenty of entertainment options. We get a preview of exactly what’s on tap this Saturday from event organizers.
