PBS, NPR and local public radio and television stations around the country are funded in part by a $535 million appropriation provided by Congress through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. But substantial support also comes from nonprofit foundations, corporate dollars, local grants and individual viewer donations. We take a closer look at the complex funding matrix and what the proposed clawback of already appropriated federal dollars could mean for local broadcasters, including WJCT Public Media. We also discuss why WJCT is asking listeners and viewers to continue to support its mission.
