In response to a question from a First Coast Connect listener in May, Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan has launched a countywide task force to tackle the issue of affordable child care. The group comprises advocacy groups, educators, state employees, medical professionals, university professors and parents, and is tasked with examining the reasons behind the high cost of child care in Duval County and suggesting solutions. We talk with three task force members about what questions they want answered and what they hope to deliver. Send your questions or comments to firstcoastconnect@wjct.org.
