On Wednesday’s show: Election postmortem with Chris Hand

If ignorance is bliss, consider this the most rapturous paragraph you’ll read today. Tuesday’s election results are still hours away, and outcomes are very much a mystery. Not so come Wednesday morning, when we dig deep into the marrow of the body politic for a proper election postmortem. And who better to guide us than a survivor of many political seasons — author, attorney and government expert Chris Hand. We break down what went right in the elections, what the polls got wrong and who will lead the region and state in the years ahead. We also welcome your election-related calls, questions, celebrations and regrets. Join the conversation on air by calling 904-549-2937, email comments and questions to firstcoastconnect@wjct.org or go to firstcoastconnect.org to connect with us on social media.

Guest: Chris Hand, local government expert, attorney and co-author with the late Sen. Bob Graham of America, the Owner's Manual.

Toy story

A favorite holiday performance at the annual Dickens on Centre celebration becomes a local performer’s first book. The Little Toy Shoppe by filmmaker, playwright and now author Jason Woods is an adaptation of his play about the dreams and heartaches of several abandoned toys at the titular shop and their road to self acceptance. We talk to Woods about making the leap from the stage to the page following his recent book release on Nov. 1 at the Story & Song Center for Arts & Culture in Fernandina Beach. The play itself will be performed Dec. 11 to 13 at the annual Dickens on Center event in Amelia Island.

Guest:  Jason Woods, filmmaker, playwright, author of The Little Toy Shoppe
