The NBA returns to Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena this fall. Jacksonville Mayor Alvin made the announcement Monday morning.
“I want everyone to mark your calendar for Wednesday, October the 8th, to tell your family and friends. And we’re really going to make sure we have some fun in this city, because the Wizards and the Pelicans, the Pelicans, are coming back to Veterans Memorial Arena," Brown said. "The Pelicans! All right!”
Brown says all of the proceeds from the Hoops For Troops event will go to help military veterans on the First Coast.
This will be the second time the New Orleans Pelicans have played a game in Jacksonville. They took on the Orlando Magic in an NBA pre-season game at Veterans Memorial Arena last year.
Tickets for the game between the Pelicans and the Wizards are scheduled to go on sale this Friday, July 25.
