The Trump Administration has plans to auction off Florida's coastal waters to search for oil and natural gas. Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced legislation on Monday that would offshore drilling along Florida’s coasts. The Miami Beach “STEAM pilot program” centers on integrating local arts and cultural institutions into the math and science curriculum at public schools. The Bass Museum of Art, Miami City Ballet, New World Symphony and others have representatives are participating in the classrooms. The program is running now until June. The April Sundial Book Club title is "Long Live the Tribe of Fatherless Girls," by T Kira Madden. Her debut memoir explores her experience growing up in Boca Raton as a queer multiracial woman. For National Poetry Month WLRN has been asking listeners to participate in "ZipOdes," a project created by WLRN and O,Miami that encourages South Florida residents to create a poem using their zip code. The concept is simple: You use the five digits of your zipcode to write a poem that corresponds with the each number of your zipcode. Selected poems will be read at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens on Wednesday, April 24.
