An Edward Waters College fraternity is bringing drinking water to Flint, Michigan, next week.

The Chi Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity began collecting bottles and jugs of water after learning about the contaminated water crises in Flint.

EWC Senior Jeffrey Sanders says it’s rewarding to be able to give back.

"I came up with the idea just to help. There is no motive behind it. It was just like, ‘Let’s do something to help. There's no reason why people in America should live without clean water,’” he says.

A Jacksonville high school student is hoping to bring attention to the city’s high murder rate with The Golden Shoes Project.  It’s a series of installations of gold-painted shoes meant to commemorate lives lost to violence.           

Stanton High School sophomore Jack Lagoy says the intent is to stop the violence.
