Five community meetings are set for residents who want to learn more about FEMA's Flood Mitigation Assistance Program.

Three weeks after Hunter Conrad abruptly resigned, the County Commission appointed Deputy County Administrator Joy Andrews as his temporary replacement.

Conrad gave no reason in a resignation letter Thursday. He resigned a day before the county commission planned to discuss his "existing service agreement."

The department also has a new logo — created by a staff member — to mark its 25th anniversary.

St. Johns County commissioners have approved a 3% reduction in rates — or about $2.50 per month for most customers.

Lennar plans 80 single-family homes and 190 townhomes at Shearwater, a master-planned community. Fifty of the townhomes are classified as "affordable."

Fields Auto Group bought 15.5 acres at Interstate 95 and International Golf Parkway in St. Johns County. The Illinois-based company operates other dealerships in Northeast Florida.

Jacksonville University has broken ground for an educational facility at the Fountains at St. Johns, a mixed-use development at County Road 210 West and Interstate 95.

The outdoor gear and apparel retailer announced in 2012 that it would open in St. Johns County, but it has changed sites.

Neighbors complained the proposed Col. Hinman Intermodal Exchange Facility would create dangerous truck traffic on two-lane roads, noise and environmental issues.
