According to a new Duke University study, children who participate in early learning programs are less likely to be placed in special education. The researchers also found that pre-K programs benefit kids with attention disorders and learning disabilities. Proponents of early learning here in Florida say these findings illustrate how high quality early education can alter the course of a person’s life dramatically. We speak Padma Rajan, vice president of programs and research with Guiding Stars of Duval.

Generation W founder Donna Orender joins us to discuss Generation Works, the conference's new dedicated day of service where women and girls lead the way.

We also speak with "The Book of Mormon" stars David Larsen and Cody Jamison Strand about their show on stage now at the Times-Union Center.

And Kerry Speckman joins us with a rundown of all of this weekend's events around town.
