Acclaimed storyteller, performer and creator of the national award-winning Jacksonville-based public radio program State of the Re:Union, Al Letson is a man of many talents.
This month, Letson is kicking off a crowdfunding campaign for his latest project, a comic book.
He joined Melissa Ross with more on Imperfect: The Five Faces of Eve.
Combining creative artistry and valuable content, Imperfect focuses the struggles of adolescence.
The primary character, Eve Barber, is an average kid until puberty hits and everything in her world starts to change. Eve finds herself facing new challenges where love, life and her everyday experiences are spiraling out of control.
Throughout the story, Eve’s physical and mental characters transform to include extraordinary powers as she learns who and what she can and cannot control and how she must use her own strength to face the world and find her greater purpose.
The concept came from Letson as he observed his daughter and her friends navigating social struggles in middle school.
Written by Letson and drawn by international Amsterdam-based Pier Brito, with graphic design from Jacksonville designer Ron Hubbard, the initial four-issue series is estimated for a November release.
Letson is seeking 15,000 in funding for Kickstarter to launch the book. Click here for more info and donation information.
