The North Florida Transportation Planning Organization and the state Department of Transportation want to know what roads people are taking and why.
To get answers the organizations are asking First Coast residents to take a travel survey.
North Florida TPO spokeswoman Marci Larson said on WJCT’s First Coast Connect Tuesday that the updated study may help improve transportation in our region.
“This household study - travel study---is traditionally done every eight to ten years, to get a great snapshot of how people in the region are traveling, and we have not actually done one since 2000.”
The North Florida TPO is looking at travel patterns in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties.
Questions include how you travel, where you go, and how long it takes you to get there.
The information collected will help prioritize future transportation projects.
You can take the survey on the North Florida TPO’s website at this link. The password to use for the survey is: Survey.
