Clay Humane Asks For Help With 2 Abandoned Kittens That Were Injured

Clay Humane is asking for donations to help with the costs of caring for two abandoned kittens.

Clinic veterinarians said, given their injuries, they’re pretty sure the kittens were thrown out of moving vehicles.

One, a six-month-old male that clinic staff named Buckman, was found November 30 on the Buckman Bridge with extensive injuries.

The second kitten is just 10-weeks-old. She was found with an injured jaw running along Interstate 95 near Emerson Street. She’s been named Emerson.

Both cats required x-rays and surgery.

Clay Humane estimates their care will end up costing about $2,000.

The staff said the kittens should be well enough to be adopted by Christmas.

Anyone interested in making a donation to help Buckman and Emerson or other abandoned and sick animals can do so at Clay Humane’s website or by calling 904-276-7729.
