FEMA has extended the deadline for filing Requests for Public Assistance (RPAs) to November 21 in Florida.  This extension is for public and nonprofit organizations.

State and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations in Florida are eligible to apply for federal assistance for debris removal, emergency services related to the disaster, and repairing or replacing damaged public facilities, such as roads, buildings and utilities.

Anyone in Florida that needs additional information can visit www.FEMA.gov/IrmaFL@FEMARegion4 on Twitter or on FEMA’s Facebook page.

Georgia's FEMA Deadline Is Tuesday

In Georgia, Tuesday, Nov. 14 is the last day for residents needing assistance to register with FEMA for Hurricane Irma damage.

Once you apply with FEMA, you may be eligible for federal grants to help, among other things, pay for emergency home repairs or temporary housing. FEMA grants do not have to be repaid, are nontaxable and will not affect eligibility for Social Security, Medicaid or other federal benefits.
