FSCJ Named Partner In Holocaust Education

Peter Haden

Florida State College at Jacksonville will become a new partner for preparing educators to teach about the Holocaust.

The Florida Task Force on Holocaust Education named FSCJ the tenth designated site in the state.

“Our goal is to provide education to the teachers so they in turn can meet the state mandate of teaching the Holocaust to their students," said Task Force Chairperson Linda Medvin. "We have many teachers that don’t know the history or the methodology or the new research that has come out. But I see great potential for this part of the state.”

The Florida legislature passed a bill in 1994 that requires Holocaust education in grades K through 12.
