The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a murder that happened on the city’s Westside last September.
26-year-old Gary Heath was shot at a home on Indian Lakes Drive, off of 103rd Street, and died of his injuries a couple of days later.
The suspect, 22-year-old LeJuan Marquise Hall, happened to be in a car police stopped, Lt.. Craig Waldrup with the Sheriff’s Office said Monday morning. “The suspect was brought down to homicide and interviewed by detectives and booked into the jail.”
Waldrup said Hall did not confess to the crime, "They had some type of verbal altercation, which led to a fight, which then led to the shooting," our News4Jax partner reported.
Investigators said Hall and the victim were acquaintances who had previously had a physical fight. They believe the shooting was in retaliation for the earlier altercation.
