Motorists Face New I-95 NB Traffic Patterns Into Downtown Jacksonville

Northbound motorists on I-95 heading into downtown Jacksonville are navigating new traffic patterns.

With Florida-Georgia weekend upon us, many motorists will no doubt be surprised by new traffic patterns the Florida Department of Transportation has been rolling out over the past week as part of the Overland Bridge project along Interstate 95.

Northbound commuters traveling into downtown will find the Atlantic Blvd. exit has finally opened as the construction nears completion.

But perhaps the bigger news is the traffic pattern shift as northbound motorists near the split for the downtown bridges.

Motorists now have to decide whether they will be taking the Fuller Warren, Acosta or Main Street bridges earlier.

Decision points were moved back just near the Emerson Boulevard overpass. FDOT has two downtown lanes open at this time.

Dates for the opening of additional lanes and ramps haven’t been announced yet but FDOT says the entire project is expected to be completed in early 2018.

More information about the Overland Bridge Replacement Project is available on FDOT’s website.
