The United States granted many Haitians refuge, allowing them to work, send their children to school, and hold mortgages on homes as a part of their Temporary Protected Status. Recently, President Donald Trump set a July 22, 2019 deadline to end the Haitian people’s TPS status. After also working for the NBC affiliate, she decided to move to Parma, Italy where she earned her Master’s degree in communication from the University of Gastronomic Sciences. Her undergraduate degree in Mass Communication is from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
