Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said a larger police presence has decreased street shootings.

After a shooting spike early in the year, the city gave JSO $1.5 million to pay for officer overtime — and Williams said more officers equals less crime.

Jacksonville police are looking for a man who robbed four Riverside restaurant employees at gunpoint in broad daylight Friday.

This happened a year after another restaurant employee was robbed and fatally shot across the street.

Mayor Lenny Curry celebrated a year since he was sworn into office Friday with a walk and lunch with residents in a Northwest Jacksonville neighborhood.
