5 Points Pride Block Party 2016
The 5 Points Merchants Association is holding a River City Pride Block Party from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday to celebrate the 37th annual pride event. The celebration is free. A float parade will kick off the party. There will be music, food and local vendors as well.

The Northeast Florida Therapy Animals group is sponsoring an event to educate those who are interested in signing their pet up as a therapy animal. Those who are already registered to volunteer and facilities looking to start a therapy animal program are encouraged to attend. The event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Charles M. Neviaser Educational Institute of Community Hospice and is free of cost. Please leave all pets at home.

Former Blue Collar Comedy star Ron White will perform at the Times-Union Center on Saturday. The Grammy-nominated comedian has been one of the highest grossing comedians on tour in the U.S., and has one of the highest rated specials in Comedy Central history. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Ballots & Brews: A Political Poster Show
Intuition Ale Works is hosting an event for enthusiasts of beer and politics. Starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Intuition Ale Works, located at 929 East Bay St., will be hosting a politically-opinionated poster show. This show will allow artists and designers express their opinions through posters and art while mingling with candidates, campaign representatives and elected officials. This event is free and the first 50 people will be given a free beer ticket.
Jacksonville Jaguars Watch Parties

The Jaguars will be across the pond for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts — and that means morning football. Several Jacksonville restaurants and bars will have watch parties. Brix Tap House, 300 2nd Street N., Jacksonville Beach, is hosting the Generation Jaguar party. There will be breakfast biscuits provided by Metro Diner, and specials all morning. The action begins at 9 a.m. Blackfinn Ameripub, 4840 Big Island Dr., will be celebrating it’s sixth anniversary and hosting a Jaguars watch party at 9 a.m. Sunday. Also abbreviate Drive since it’s in a street address. The restaurant will have bottomless mimosas, a brunch buffet, Jaguars ticket giveaway and much more. Mellow Mushroom’s Avondale location will open at 9 a.m. for the game. There will be bottomless mimosas and delicious pizza at 3611 Saint Johns Ave.
