Saying he likes to hire people who, "want to make money and make a difference," Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan attracted a packed house as he shared insights into the the future of the Jaguars, his English Premier League soccer team, and the future of business on the First Coast. Khan's talk at EverBank Field came courtesy of the World Affairs Council Jacksonville's global business luncheon.
"I've seen homeless guys in Detroit who have more mojo than a millionaire in Jacksonville," Khan said, adding that he believes the city has enormous potential that has yet to be reached.
He went on to say that the recent success of the 2014 One Spark festival is a positive sign.
Owner of both the Jaguars and English soccer team Fulham Football Club, Khan also owns Illinois-based equipment manufacturing company Flex-N-Gate.
Khan said the Jags are focused on improving the fan experience for this upcoming NFL season.
Renovations to the stadium currently underway include the addition of the largest video scoreboards in the league, water attractions, and more.
