The U-S Mens Soccer team is coming to Jacksonville just ahead of playing in the World Cup.
The team will play a match against Nigeria June 7th at EverBank Field.
It will be one of three matches the U-S will play against other nations ahead of the World Cup. The others will be at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park and Red Bull Arena in suburban New York.
Visit Jacksonville President and CEO Paul Astleford said the match will provide Jacksonville the chance to again showcase itself in front of a national audience.
"This event is a great example of a growing spirit of collaboration and the resulting prosperity pride and vitality that is being created in this greater Jacksonville community," he said.
Ticket information regarding the match will be available at a later date. The game will air on ESPN.
Astleford said Visit Jacksonville expects visitors come from around the country to come to town to watch the match.
Jax Chamber President Daniel Davis said international soccer matches are a great place to show other business leaders what the First Coast has to offer.
