Every weekday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the parking lot next to Kuhn Flowers on Beach Blvd. becomes the temporary home of several rotating food trucks and many hungry lunchgoers. Inspired by similar projects in food-truck-friendly cities such as Austin, Texas and Portland, Oregon, owner Anthony Hashem decided to open Jax Food Truck Food Court on a property owned by his family. In addition to a variety of foods from different cultures and cuisines, customers can enjoy air-conditioned seating and Wi-Fi at the food court, making it a unique destination for business meetings.
Jalepeño Truck operator Kerri Dennis says the food court has been good for business, and she has been "pleasantly surprised" at how Jacksonville has come out in support of local businesses. Rhonda Ryan, Owner of Bold City Pops, a vender that sells frozen popsicles made of fresh fruits and vegetables, says that the food court is a great addition to the neighborhood.
Jax Food Truck Food Court is located at 3814 Beach Blvd., just 3.5 miles outside of downtown Jacksonville.
