South Florida vet threatens suicide in three-hour standoff: A 59-year-old Vietnam Veteran threatened to hang himself from the 70-foot drop of an 1-595 entrance ramp yesterday, causing hours of gridlock. (South Florida Sun Sentinel)
State lawmakers hope to raise speed limit to 75: A bill expected to be filed today in Tallahassee wouldincrease the maximum speed limit on state highways to 75-miles-per-hour. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)
Texting and driving ban arrests low in Southwest FL: Law enforcement in Fort Meyers and Lee County have issued five tickets under the state's new texting while driving ban since it went into effect last month. (The News-Press)
