It is with great sadness that WJCT reports that Luke Johnson has passed away.
Luke was the focus of a special September feature for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The Lee High School student was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia two years ago. He succumbed to complications from the disease on November 24. He was 17.
Lee High School principal Dean Ledford described Luke as well-known and admired by students and faculty at the school.
"Our entire student body and staff will miss Luke greatly," he said.
A memorial Service for Luke will be held next Sunday, December 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Karpeles 101 W 1st St.
