A new partnership will make it easy for students at Florida State College at Jacksonville to transfer to the University of North Florida after two years of study.
The Connect program lets students entering FSCJ this fall declare their intention to earn a bachelor’s degree at UNF and reserve a spot for when they’re ready to make the switch.
FSCJ Spokeswoman Jill Johnson says it’s a way for everyone to win.
“Students who earn a baccalaureate degree have higher earning potential,” Johnson said. “I think that the feeling is mutual between UNF and FSCJ that the more individuals that are coming out and completing baccalaureate degree programs are better for the workforce in our community.”
Johnson says FSCJ students who enroll in the Connect program will have access to academic advisers at UNF to help them stay on track.
And, she says, for a small fee they can use UNF’s student union, wellness complex and library and participate in campus events, all the while attending FSCJ.
