Some potentially scandalous red light traffic cameras in Jacksonville were in the news this week.The Florida Times-Union this week reports that RedFlex Traffic Systems of Arizona has been accused by one of its former executives of giving gifts and bribes to government officials in 13 states, including Florida.
RedFlex is the company behind the red light cameras now up across the city. If you’re caught on camera running a red light you’ll face a fine of $158.
Former RedFlex employee Aaron Rosenberg says the company uses gifts and bribes to land government contracts. Back in 2006 they invited a group of Florida officials to dinner here in Jacksonville at Morton’s to make their pitch.
