The results of the August primary election and its historically low voter turnout are making news this week.
Former Republican governor Charlie Crist won the Democratic nomination Tuesday to seek his old job with a new party. He will face Gov. Rick Scott in the November general election.
Meanwhile, just three votes separated Jay Fant and Paul Renner in the race for the Republican primary for Florida House District 15, triggering a recount Friday morning.
Joining First Coast Connect guest host Karen Feagins on our regular Friday media roundtable to discuss these and other stories is our panel of local journalists:
- Larry Hannan, Florida Times-Union reporter
- A.G. Gancarski, Folio Weekly columnist
- John Burr, Jacksonville Business Journal editor
Additional topics include police officers in the town of Waldo admitting to speeding ticket quotas, and proposed new plans to completely revamp the Jacksonville Landing.
