The 2014 Florida governor's race and Jacksonville's pension are making headlines this week.
A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Florida Governor Rick Scott and former Governor Charlie Crist essentially tied just two weeks before the election.
The two met in Jacksonville this week for their final debate televised nationally on CNN in partnership with WJXT Channel 4.
The results of the poll show that a majority of men are backing Scott, the Republican incumbent, while women are going with Crist, his Democratic challenger. Independent voters are virtually split down the middle.
Voter turnout is expected to play a major role in the November 4 election as Floridians decide whether Scott will get second term or if Crist will become the first Democrat to win a governor’s race in 20 years.
The number of voters coming out in support of Libertarian candidate Adrian Wyllie is also expected to affect the outcome of the race.
