Thursday on First Coast Connect, we spoke with Jacksonville Transportation Authority CEO Nathaniel Ford about the future of transportation in the city. We also heard from local chef and restaurant owner Kenny Gilbert about his plans to expand the local restaurant scene. Swamp Radio’s Ian Mairs along with chef Stephen Dimare joined the show to talk about their upcoming dinner and radio theater event “Early Thanks” being held Saturday at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
Nat Ford
Rapid transit on the First Coast is expanding. The JTA is implementing the second phase of the First Coast Flyer Bus Rapid Transit program. The Blue Line launches Dec. 5. Ford spoke about upcoming changes in the JTA system and the future of the Skyway.
Kenny Gilbert
Gilbert earned the right to be called a celebrity chef when he appeared on one of TV’s top cooking competitions in 2010, “Top Chef.” Gilbert now owns and runs two popular local restaurants: Gilbert’s Underground Kitchen in Fernandina Beach and Gilbert’s Social on Southside Boulevard. He told host Melissa Ross he has plans for more.
