Monday on First Coast Connect we had the latest on the Florida recount as several statewide races hang in the balance.

Donna Deegan, who worked on Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum’s campaign joined us. Gillum’s razor-thin loss to Republican Ron DeSantis has resulted in the governor's race facing a recount.

The U.S. Senate and Agriculture Commissioner races are also being recounted.

Medicare Open Enrollment

Medicare open enrollment is underway and runs through December 7th.

Florida has not extended its open enrollment period, as many states have and choosing the right plan can be confusing.

Martin Goetz, CEO of River Garden Senior Services, joined us with some insights on making the most of the open enrollment period.

John B. Stetson Mansion  Christmas Tour

If you’re looking for an interesting day trip this holiday season, one of the possibilities is the John B. Stetson mansion in DeLand.

It was the first luxury estate in Florida. Built in 1886 by hatter John Stetson, the estate is presenting  Christmas tours from November 15 - January 15.

Another Tough Loss For The Jaguars

We’re guessing some fans turned off the Jaguars-Colts at half-time as Jacksonville struggled, ultimately losing 26 to 29.
