7/9/19: Front Yard Vegetable Gardens; Allergies; 'First Coast Connect' Book Club

Man in Overalls

It’s now legal in Florida to grow a vegetable garden in your front yard. The new law is seen as a victory for urban gardeners and food activists working to fight hunger and food insecurity.

Nathan Ballentine, aka “The Man in Overalls,” a Jacksonville-based travelling urban farmer, entrepreneur, educator, and community organizer; and Michael Neff of Feeding Northeast Florida, joined us for a closer look. They also had tips on how to grow your own front yard vegetable garden.

Allergies

Summer in Florida means not just wilting heat, but also allergies. Dr. Paul Walker, a board-certified otolaryngologist - or ENT doctor - with Baptist ENT Specialists provided advice for folks struggling with allergies.
