Downtown Jacksonville

There is a lot of attention focused on Downtown Jacksonville these days. Between the new Ford on Bay, First Baptist Church’s decision to put about 90% of their properties on the market, plans for a mixed-use development at the old Independent Life Tower, and JEA’s plans for a new headquarters the urban core is changing.

What could these projects mean for the urban core? We took a closer look with Christian Oldenburg, Managing Director and Market Leader for Colliers International Northeast Florida; and Mike Field of our digital partner, the Jaxson.

First Coast Connect Book Club

First Coast Connect Book Club Facilitator Stacey Goldring joined us with this month’s pick, There, There, by Tommy Orange.

Jasmyn

JASMYN’s Coming Out Day Breakfast is on October 16. This year, the keynote speaker is activist Jodie Patterson, the mother of five children, one of whom is transgender. She joined us with a preview.

Mammograms

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So, it’s as good a time as any to remind women of the importance of an annual mammogram. Dr. Smita Sharma, a radiologist with UF Health Jacksonville’s Department of Surgery, joined us with some information on mammograms - and why they are so important.

Cole Pepper

Cole Pepper discussed the Jaguars 13 - 7 loss to the Saints, as well as the weekend’s big high school and college games.
