As the presidential race heats up across the country, the deadline to register to vote in Florida’s primaries is fast approaching.

Florida’s primary is March 17th, but the deadline to register or change party affiliations is next Tuesday, Feb. 18. Matthew Corrigan, dean of the Jacksonville University College of Arts and Sciencesjoined us. Florida has closed primaries, which means voters can only nominate candidates who are affiliated with their party.

LISC Jacksonville

LISC aims to help residents transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy, sustainable communities that are good places to live, work and play. Since 1999, the Local Initiatives Support Coalition or LISC, has invested more than $100 million into the city’s urban core. And, it's leveraged over $365 million from outside sources for homes, apartments and businesses. This month, LISC Jacksonville is celebrating 20 years of inclusion and equitable development in Jacksonville’s most challenged neighborhoods. We heard from Janet Owens, executive director of LISC Jacksonville, and J.F. Bryan, founding board chair.

The newest way to pub crawl throughout Downtown and other urban core neighborhoods, the Pedal Pub party bike is rolling through town. Owner Theresa Pontieri said her website is taking reservations now. Pedal Pub has pre-selected stops, or groups can create custom tours. The tour lasts about two hours. It’s $38 per person on weekdays and $42 on weekends.
