Jacksonville got a lot of national attention over the weekend for partially reopening its beaches. Atlantic Beach Mayor, Ellen Glasser, joined us with a look at how the first few days have been going.

Duval and Saint Johns County reopened the beaches, with restrictions Friday. The beaches are only open to the public during certain hours for activities like walking, biking or surfing. This decision has drawn criticism, with the hashtag #FloridaMorons trending on social media and news headlines.

Finances during COVID-19

COVID-19 has a lot of people worried about their finances. Jeanette Bajalia, founder of Woman’s Worth, is urging her clients not to panic. She joined us with more advice for this time of uncertainty.

Seniors and self-isolation

Social distancing and isolation can be especially difficult for seniors. Linda Levin, CEO of Eldersource, joined us with resources to support and help the elderly during the pandemic. One of those resources is the ElderSource HelpLine. The helpline offers free, live help from trained specialists about local programs and services. Dr. Sondra Graham, Executive Director of Behavioral Health at Memorial Hospital also gave us more details.

Cole Pepper

WJCT’s sports analyst, Cole Pepper, shared his thoughts on the upcoming virtual NFL Draft and what it could mean for the Jacksonville Jaguars
