On Saturday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said his administration would release the names of the state’s long-term care facilities that have active COVID 19 cases.
Florida’s nursing homes and senior living centers have been hotbeds for the disease. In fact, more than 20 Northeast Florida long-term care facilities are on the list of statewide providers with COVID-19 positive tests.
Here in Jacksonville, one facility sent a letter to the governor, state attorney general and the secretary of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. The River Garden Hebrew Home let state officials know they’re concerned about the lack of available testing for nursing home residents and staff. Marty Goetz, the CEO of River Garden, joined us for a closer look.
