Protestors at the Duval County Courthouse on Saturday, May 30.

As things quieted down after two days of sometimes violent clashes between local protestors and police, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry opted not to order a second curfew Monday night.

However, many officials acknowledge that change is needed after protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. But what would change in Jacksonville look like? Longstanding disparities and frustration with police have been driving a lot of the unrest we saw here.

City Council member Brenda Priestly Jackson joined us along with Tammy Hodo of UNF, who lectures on diversity, inequality and mass incarceration.

Coronavirus Fatigue

Coronavirus fatigue is getting to many of us right now. Millions of Americans are depressed, anxious, and stressed out as the pandemic drags on. Most of us are coping the best we can, but some are struggling with major anxiety. Psychiatry Specialist Dr. Marek Hirsch of Memorial Hospital joined us with some advice.

Wild Florida

Summer is quickly approaching, which means it is almost time to enjoy the natural beauty this region has to offer during the season. Florida Master Naturalist and Journalist Lisa Grubba chatted with us about the fun activities we can look forward to, like sea turtles nesting and dolphins frolicking.
