COVID-19's Impact In Jacksonville; Black Lives Matter; JDRF North Florida

Wednesday on First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross we looked at COVID-19 in Jacksonville as Mayor Lenny Curry said Tuesday the percentage of positive COVID-19 cases has dropped compared to the city's peak.

But at the same time, the number of new cases each day has been trending upward. WJCT News reporter Sky Lebron joined us with more.

Local Black Lives Matter protest leader Christina Kittle joined us with a look at the impact the movement is having and the focus on police accountability.

What's Good Wednesdays

Among the good news were focusing on this week is the work being done by JDRF North Florida. The juvenile diabetes research foundation is giving its supporters a cloth mask to protect against COVID-19. 

Anastasia Albanese-O’Neill is a clinical assistant professor and the Director of Diabetes Education and Clinic Operations at the University of Florida, as well as a JDRF North Florida Board Member; 

She joined us along with JDRF North Florida Executive Director Brooks Biagini.
